Site Manager – Groundworks & Civils Location: Ashford, Kent Start Date: 5th October 2026 Duration: 35 weeks We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a major groundworks and civils project in Ashford, Kent, starting on 5th October for an initial 35-week contract. The project involves the development of a large open storage yard, including approximately 100,000m² of concrete hardstanding, extensive drainage and associated groundworks and civils. We are looking for a Site Manager with a strong groundworks/civils background who is confident managing site operations, subcontractors and health & safety on a large-scale project. Key Responsibilities * Managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. * Supervising groundworks, civils, drainage and concrete works. * Managing subcontractors and site teams. * Coordinating daily activities, labour, plant and materials. * Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to the Project Manager. * Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with RAMS and health & safety requirements. * Maintaining high standards of site organisation, quality and compliance. * Liaising with engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team. Requirements * Proven experience as a Site Manager within groundworks and/or civil engineering. * Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage and concrete hardstanding. * Experience managing large-scale external works projects. * SMSTS – essential. * First Aid at Work – essential. * Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills. * Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple site activities.
