EH&S Supervisor Location: Ashton/Tipton, UK Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, 37.5 hours per week Job Type: Permanent Are you an experienced EHS, HSE, QHSE or Health & Safety professional looking for a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment? We are currently recruiting for an EH&S Supervisor to provide leadership and tactical support across two manufacturing sites in Ashton and Tipton. This is a hands-on position focused on maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance while driving continuous improvement and developing a strong EHS culture. The Role Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and improving the site's Environmental, Health & Safety programmes. You will play a key role in: * Ensuring compliance with UK EHS legislation and regulatory requirements. * Developing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. * Conducting site inspections, audits, SMATs and cold-eye reviews. * Identifying risks and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions. * Supporting incident investigations and identifying root causes. * Developing and delivering EHS training to employees, supervisors and contractors. * Coaching and mentoring line management on EHS matters. * Developing short- and long-term EHS strategies and monitoring performance through KPIs. * Driving continuous improvement and developing an autonomous EHS culture. * Maintaining EHS procedures, policies and compliance documentation. * Managing environmental compliance relating to air, waste and water. * Supporting the management of hazardous, non-hazardous and universal waste. * Maintaining the site's EHS compliance calendar. * Supporting regulatory reporting, audits, permits and environmental plans. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: * 5–10 years' experience within QHSE/EHS/HSE. * At least 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment. * Strong knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation. * Experience working with environmental regulations and regulatory compliance. * Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. * A proven track record in reducing workplace incidents and improving EHS performance. * Experience conducting audits, inspections and investigations. * Knowledge of JSA, root cause analysis and HAZOP techniques. * Experience developing and delivering EHS training. * Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills. * A relevant Health & Safety qualification/certification. * A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally within Environmental Management, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. WAMITAB certification would be advantageous but is not essential. What You'll Be Doing This is a highly visible, hands-on EHS position where you will spend significant time within the manufacturing environment. You will work closely with operational teams to identify hazards, improve standards, ensure compliance and embed a positive safety culture. The role requires someone who can lead, coach, challenge and influence, while also being comfortable getting involved at site level.
