Location: Barnsley Position: Permanent, Full-Time Start Date: Immediate Sector: Drylining & Plastering We are looking for an experienced Estimator, on a permanent basis in Barnsley. This is an immediate-start opportunity for someone with a strong background in drylining and plastering estimating who can manage projects from initial enquiry through to pricing and variations. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of drylining and plastering works and be confident producing accurate and competitive estimates. Key Responsibilities * Preparing accurate estimates and quotations for drylining and plastering projects * Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information * Taking off quantities and pricing labour, materials and subcontractor costs * Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive costs * Preparing and submitting tenders and quotations * Dealing with general variations and additional works * Reviewing changes to scope and assessing the associated costs * Supporting the commercial team with pricing and cost information * Maintaining accurate records of estimates and tender submissions * Working closely with project managers, site teams and clients * Identifying potential risks, omissions and opportunities within tenders * Following projects through from initial pricing to completion where required Requirements * Previous experience as an Estimator within drylining and/or plastering * Strong understanding of drylining and plastering methods, materials and labour requirements * Experience with variations, additional works and re-measurements * Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications * Strong numerical and commercial skills * Excellent attention to detail * Good communication and negotiation skills * Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders * Good IT skills and experience using estimating/spreadsheet software The Role This is a permanent position with an immediate start, based in Barnsley.
