Orbitech Recruitment are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our client’s manufacturing team in Derby. Our client specialises in pattern, model and tooling manufacture for the foundry and wider engineering industries, with substantial in-house CAD/CAM and CNC capability. Their Derby facility includes multiple CNC machining centres, including large-format 5-axis machinery. This role would suit someone who is confident working independently on CNC machinery and, importantly, has a strong understanding of CNC programming software and CAD/CAM processes. What they’re looking for: * Minimum 3 years’ CNC machining experience * Strong experience operating 3-axis CNC machinery, or good experience across both 3-axis and 5-axis * Confident using and understanding CNC programming/CAM software * Able to upload, interpret and work from CAD files * Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, setup and tool paths * Comfortable machining a variety of materials * Ability to work accurately from engineering drawings and CAD information * Autodesk PowerMill experience would be a strong advantage * Previous experience within tooling, patternmaking, precision engineering or a similar specialist manufacturing environment would be beneficial * Able to come into the role and get up to speed quickly Salary & Working Hours: * Starting salary: £36,744.40 per annum * Monday to Friday * 8-hour shifts * Flexible start times between 6am and 8am * Overtime available If you have strong CNC machining experience and are comfortable working with CNC programming software and CAD/CAM systems, apply now
