Job Description Bury | Full time, permanent | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE A growing accountancy practice in Bury is looking for a Management Accountant to join its team. The firm provides high level fractional finance support — Finance Controllers, Finance Directors, Management Accountants, Bookkeepers, Payroll Officers and Credit Controllers — to small and medium sized businesses across the North West. You’d take charge of your own portfolio of four to seven clients and own their management accounting entirely. It’s a role with real autonomy: you’re not buried in a corner of a finance team, you’re the person those businesses come to for answers. The role * Producing customised management accounts for each client * Commercial accounting and business intelligence * Reconciling balance sheet accounts * Analysing gross profitability by project, product or revenue stream * Clear variance analysis and performance commentary * Leading monthly and quarterly client meetings * Delivering KPI dashboards * Maintaining cashflow forecasts and budgets * Providing commercial insight * VAT returns and forecasting work * Supporting the bookkeeping team The profile * 5 years’ or more experience in a similar role, with relevant qualifications * Strong management accounts preparation experience * Sage 50 and Xero experience — both essential * Full competency with Outlook and Excel * Confident presenting financial information and meeting clients on site * Accountancy practice background is an advantage * Friendly, grounded and trustworthy If you like variety, meeting new people and running your own workload rather than waiting to be told, this one’s worth a look.
