Maintenance Operative / Multiskilled Tradesman Location: Sunderland Salary: £22.00 per hour (Umbrella) Job Type: Full-time, Temporary Contract Duration: 6 months minimum, with potential for extension Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Working Pattern: Flexible working options available About the Role An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Repairs and Maintenance Section of an award winning and highly respected local authority. We are seeking a skilled and professional Maintenance Operative (Multi-Skilled) to join the Property Services Team immediately. Working across both domestic and commercial properties, you will support capital works and disabled adaptations as part of a busy, multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard. What the Role Offers £22.00 per hour via Umbrella 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday Flexible working options Dedicated works vehicle provided Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension Opportunity to work within a local authority Property Services team Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality capital works and disabled adaptations across domestic and commercial properties Undertake a range of multi-skilled trade activities, with a core focus on joinery, basic plumbing, ceramic tiling, plastering and decoration Provide professional and courteous customer service to residents and building users Work safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality requirements Work effectively as part of a busy, multi-disciplinary teamEssential Requirements Trade Qualification: A relevant recognised trade qualification, such as NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent. Experience: Demonstrable experience carrying out multi-skilled trade activities. Previous experience within a local authority or social housing repairs and maintenance environment is highly advantageous. Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential as you will be required to operate the allocated works vehicle.
