Traffic Operator, Felixstowe Salary: £45,000 Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and Traffic Operator to join their busy transport operations team. This is a key position responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of their fleet, ensuring that customer requirements are met efficiently while maintaining compliance with all transport legislation and company procedures. Key Responsibilities: * Planning and allocating daily transport movements * Monitoring vehicle and driver activity to maximise operational efficiency * Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules, collections, and service updates * Managing driver communications and providing operational support * Ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive, Driver Hours, and tachograph regulations * Maintaining accurate transport records and operational documentation * Responding to operational issues and implementing effective solutions * Coordinating with warehouse and traffic teams to ensure service delivery targets are achieved * Supporting the achievement of KPIs relating to service, utilisation, and cost control * Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers Requirements: * Previous experience in a Traffic Operator, Transport Planner, or similar transport operations role * Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements * Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload effectively * Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels * Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications * Knowledge of container, general haulage, or logistics operations would be advantageous * Team player with a flexible attitude * Ongoing training and development opportunities
