Deputy Manager £33,000 - £37,000 Care Home | Dementia Care We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a care home providing care and support to older people living with dementia. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting the care team and helping to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care. This is a great company to work for with strong staff retention, particularly within the management team - this Deputy role is a newly created position. The Deputy Manager Role These are exciting times for my client; they're an established provider who've been running a couple of homes in the area or over 20 years. This home until very recently was a Nursing home, but they’ve decided to step away from nursing and focus on delivering specialise Dementia support, the home is having a full revamp and will be opening it doors again in the next few weeks. They’ve retained their full care staff team, so whilst they’ll need to take on new residents to fill the home, this should be fairly swift as it won’t be impeded by a lack of staff. Initially you'll support the registered manager with the assessment of new residents, care planning and ensuing their move into the home is well-managed. The role will include supporting staff, maintaining care standards, overseeing the day-to-day running of the home and working alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the service continues to meet its regulatory and safeguarding responsibilities. We’re looking for someone who: * Has previous experience in a Deputy Manager / Head of Care role within an older people or dementia setting * Has a good understanding of person-centred dementia care * Is confident leading, supporting and developing a care team * Understands safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements * Is organised, approachable and able to take responsibility when the Registered Manager is not on site * Has, or is working towards, a relevant Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health and Social Care This would suit a Deputy Manager who is looking for a well-run home where they can make a difference.
