Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join the thriving SEN team at a vibrant, large 2-form entry primary school in Bury. This is a dedicated 11-month apprenticeship programme. We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11-month journey to gain their Level 3 qualification. Why this role stands out * Higher Pay: £10.00–£13.00 per hour (significantly above standard apprenticeship rates) * FREE Qualification: Earn a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE) * Specialist Experience: Gain invaluable, hands-on experience as an integral member of the school’s SEN team * Career Progression: Clear pathways toward higher-level roles (e.g., Level 4 HLTA, SEN Specialist, or Primary Teaching) * Full Support: Dedicated mentoring from both the school’s SEN team and your Engage Education consultant Key Responsibilities Working directly within the school’s SEN team across EYFS, KS1, or KS2, you will: * Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and physical/learning difficulties) * Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks * Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment * Assist class teachers and the SENCo with resource preparation and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) * Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities Who We’re Looking For Whether you are looking for your first step in education or making a career change into special needs support, what matters most is your passion, empathy, and commitment.
