Assistant Caretaker – East Acton Location: East Acton, West London Job Type: Full-time Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Are you a reliable, practical and hardworking individual looking for a new opportunity within a school environment? We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Caretaker to join a welcoming school in East Acton. The Role As an Assistant Caretaker, you will work closely with the Site Manager/Caretaker to ensure the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained. Key Responsibilities * Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site. * Carry out general repairs and basic maintenance tasks where required. * Ensure classrooms, communal areas, playgrounds and external areas are safe and presentable. * Support with setting up and clearing rooms for school activities and events. * Carry out routine checks of the building, grounds and facilities. * Report any maintenance, health and safety or security issues promptly. * Assist with opening and securing the school site when required. * Support deliveries, contractors and visitors accessing the premises. * Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. * Follow school health and safety, safeguarding and security procedures. * Work as part of the wider premises and facilities team. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be: * Reliable, punctual and hardworking. * Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance tasks. * Able to work independently and as part of a team. * Proactive, with a good eye for detail. * Comfortable working in a busy school environment. * Friendly and approachable with staff, pupils and visitors. * Health and safety conscious. * Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site experience is desirable but not essential.
