Section Engineer - Lower Thames Crossing Location: Lower Thames Crossing Start Date: Immediate Contract: 3.5 months initially, with a guaranteed extension for the right contractor Rate: £500 per day Umbrella PAYE Hours: 10-hour days, Monday to Friday Weekends: No weekends currently required A major infrastructure project is currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join the team on the Lower Thames Crossing, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity for a Section Engineer with strong civil engineering experience to work on a major infrastructure programme, overseeing site engineering activities across gas diversions, drainage and enabling works associated with the A13, including works involving 22 bridges. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing setting out activities using Total Station Managing and reviewing 3-week lookahead programmes Managing permits and ensuring works are appropriately authorised Completing material and quantity take-offs Mentoring and supporting Site Engineers Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and the wider engineering team Supporting the delivery of gas diversion, drainage and enabling works Ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project requirements Monitoring progress and resolving engineering issues on site Requirements: Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering/infrastructure projects Strong setting out experience using Total Station Experience with drainage and enabling works Experience working around utilities/gas diversions would be advantageous Ability to manage 3-week lookaheads, permits and take-offs Experience mentoring or supporting Site Engineers SMSTS is required Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work 10-hour days, Monday to Friday Package: £500 per day Umbrella PAYE Immediate start 3.5-month initial contract Guaranteed extension for the right contractor 10-hour working days No weekend working currently required Major UK infrastructure project Opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme with significant long-term delivery If you're an experienced Section Engineer available immediately and interested in working on a major infrastructure project, please get in touch for further information
