Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant | Peterlee Location: Peterlee and surrounding areas Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only Start Date: As soon as available Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours Pay: £98–£115 per day, depending on experience No Experience? No Problem. Do you want to work with children with additional needs but don't know where to start? Protocol Education are recruiting for Trainee SEN Teaching Assistants across Peterlee. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is caring, patient and keen to develop a career in SEND. You'll gain practical experience in a school while receiving ongoing support and training. The Role You could be supporting pupils with: Autism ADHD SEMH Communication and language needs Learning difficulties Complex additional needs Your responsibilities could include: Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups Helping children access classroom activities Breaking learning down into manageable steps Supporting communication Encouraging independence Supporting positive behaviour Helping pupils manage transitions Building confidence and relationships Working alongside teachers and experienced TAs Your Background We are particularly interested in people with experience in: Care Childcare Youth work Healthcare Sports Psychology Social care Support work However, enthusiasm and the right attitude are just as important as previous experience. Driving Advantageous A driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous as some placements may be across Peterlee and the surrounding areas. You don't need to be a driver to apply.
