School Cleaner – Chelmsley Wood Location: Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 5:30pm Start Date: ASAP Contract: Temporary/Ongoing Hours per week: 10 hours The Supply Register are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join a school in Chelmsley Wood, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The Role Duties will include: Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors Cleaning and sanitising toilets and other facilities Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately Cleaning desks, surfaces and other high-touch areas Replenishing cleaning products and consumables where required Following the school's cleaning schedules and health and safety procedures Using cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately Reporting any maintenance, damage or health and safety concerns Maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene About You We are looking for candidates who are: Reliable, punctual and hardworking Able to work independently and manage their workload effectively Have previous cleaning experience – school or education experience is desirable Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness Have good attention to detail Professional and responsible when working around children and young people Available to start as soon as possible Safeguarding & Vetting Requirements As this role is based within a school, all candidates will be required to complete The Supply Register's full safeguarding and vetting process, including: Minimum of two satisfactory employer references covering the previous 24 months Three references required if you have not previously worked with children Any employment gaps must be covered by a professional character reference Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred; otherwise, you must be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS Right to Work in the UK Two proofs of address – utility bill/bank statement dated within the last 3 months, or council tax document dated within the last 12 months Proof of National Insurance number Proof of any name changes, where applicable Overseas police check where you have lived outside of the UK for more than 6 months Completion of all mandatory online safeguarding and compliance training set up by The Supply Register If you are a reliable and experienced Cleaner looking for an ongoing opportunity in a school environment and are available to start ASAP, apply today with your up-to-date CV
