The Opportunity I’m currently working with a major UK Main Contractor with an established in-house M&E division who are looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to strengthen their Pre-Construction team. The role will involve producing accurate and competitive electrical tenders, working closely with the wider Pre-Construction, Commercial and Operational teams from initial enquiry through to tender submission and project handover. This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Estimator looking for the stability and benefits of working for a major Main Contractor, while still operating within a dedicated M&E environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions Complete take-offs from drawings, specifications and tender documentation Produce labour, material and subcontractor cost build-ups Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations Review electrical designs and identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options Attend tender adjudications and handover meetings Liaise with Design, Commercial, Procurement and Operational teams Manage multiple tenders and work to required deadlines Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors Support tenders from initial enquiry through to project handover Experience Required Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within Building Services / M&E Strong technical understanding of electrical installations Experience pricing electrical packages across a range of projects Confident reading drawings, specifications and technical documentation Good understanding of labour, material and subcontractor costs Strong commercial awareness Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel Ability to manage tenders independently whilst working within a wider Pre-Construction team Salary & Benefits £50,000 – £60,000 basic salary Travel costs covered Additional travel allowance Company pension contributions Life assurance 24/7 Virtual GP Employee Assistance Programme Discounted gym memberships Employee retail & shopping discounts Flexible / hybrid working opportunities where applicable Holiday purchase scheme – option to purchase additional annual leave Professional membership funding Training & ongoing professional development Long-term progression within an established M&E division
