Outside IR35 | Accommodation Allowance | £46.50 P/H | Channel Islands | Fostering & Adoption Location: Channel Islands Contract: Temporary Agency Contract – minimum 3 months, with potential extension Hours: 37 hours per week Rate: £46.50 per hour – Outside IR35 Start: Immediate start available Make a real difference for children and families We are recruiting an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join a dedicated Fostering & Adoption service in the Channel Islands. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to support foster carers, promote high-quality care, and help ensure children and young people receive safe, stable and nurturing homes. You will be part of a supportive team, working closely with foster carers, children, families and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for children in care. Key responsibilities As Supervising Social Worker, you will: Provide regular supervision, advice and professional support to a caseload of foster carers. Assess prospective and existing foster carers in line with fostering regulations, standards and best practice. Complete fostering assessments, annual reviews and support plans. Support the recruitment, preparation, training and ongoing development of foster carers. Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, foster carers and multi-agency professionals. Monitor and review care plans, identifying strengths, risks and additional support needs. Ensure the wishes and feelings of children and young people are central to practice. Maintain robust safeguarding practice and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and local policy. Identify, assess and manage risk effectively. Contribute to fostering reviews, care planning, quality assurance and service improvement activity. Produce accurate, timely and high-quality assessments, reports and case records. Manage competing priorities while meeting statutory timescales.Essential requirements To be considered, you must have: A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration. At least 5 years’ post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care. Significant experience within a Fostering and Adoption service, including experience as a Supervising Social Worker. Demonstrable experience supervising, supporting and assessing foster carers. Experience completing fostering assessments, annual reviews and support plans. Direct statutory social work experience with children, young people and families. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, care planning and fostering regulations. Excellent partnership-working, communication, assessment and report-writing skills. The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively to deadlines. A full, clean manual driving licence and willingness to travel across the Island. An Enhanced DBS certificate, ideally on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.Contract and relocation support: Minimum 3-month contract, with potential to extend. Outside IR35  £46.50 P/H - Accommodation will be subsidised off this hourly rate Immediate start available. Staff accommodation is arranged by the service; rental costs are managed and paid by the agency on the worker’s behalf, with appropriate deductions arranged. Travel to the Channel Islands at the start of the assignment, and return travel at the end, will be funded by the service.
