Workshop Technician - Turbo Machinery Outline: A fantastic opportunity to join a Global Leading Manufacturer as a Workshop Technician. They company turnover multi-billions globally and over £50million in the UK. Looking for an enthusiastic and professional Workshop Technician, Fitter or Machinist to join a growing team. The package: * £35K - £40K Basic Salary * 15%-20% overtime available paid at 1.5 x basic * Pension – fantastic pension with up to 10% put in by the company * Healthcare * Death in service at 5 x salary * 28 days holiday + your birthday + bank holidays & you can buy up to 2 more days The role: * As the Workshop Technician you will be based in their workshop in Stockport and working on Compressors & Turbines. Mainly Centrifugal Compressors as well as others and Steam Turbines. * 90% of the work will be general fitting – disassembly, measuring, cleaning and re-assembly. There could also be some machining as well. Dealing with calibration, inspecting bearings, shafts, blades etc… * After training you will be involved in balancing Rotors. * Working within the O&G (both up-stream & mid-stream), Carbon Capture & Storage & Process industries etc… * Hours - Monday – Thursday 7.15am-3.30pm and 7.15am-3pm on Fridays (based on a 37.5 hour week) * The position is fully workshop based and there will be 15%-20% overtime available which is paid at 1.5x The ideal person: * Ideally looking for someone with experience within rotating equipment such as Compressors, Turbines, Pumps, Seals etc… * MUST have fitting skills and be driven to learn. * MUST have some form of qualification or apprenticeship as a machinist or fitter or even better if they have a HNC + in mechanical engineering or related. * Will consider someone with some good mechanical based workshop experience and it would be great if someone has experience of manual machining such as milling, turning, grinding, boring – both horizontal and vertical. * Ideally having worked on Capital Equipment and they would like someone used to working to tight tolerances. * Good attention to detail, hardworking, self-motivated and a good work ethic.
