Fraser Edwards Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading social housing organisation to recruit an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor for a permanent role on South East London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a key role in improving living conditions across social housing properties. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify the causes of damp and mould, recommend effective remedial solutions, and ensure works are completed to a high standard. The Role As a Damp & Mould Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed pre- and post-inspections of damp and mould issues across occupied and void properties. Working closely with internal teams, management and contractors, you’ll provide expert technical advice and ensure that maintenance repairs and planned works are delivered effectively, safely and in line with relevant standards. You’ll also play an important role in identifying underlying issues and recommending preventative measures to help reduce recurring damp and mould problems and improve the long-term quality of residents’ homes. Key Responsibilities * Carry out detailed pre- and post-inspections of damp and mould in social housing properties. * Undertake surveys relating to maintenance repairs and planned works across both occupied and void properties. * Identify the underlying causes of damp, mould and associated building defects. * Recommend appropriate remedial and preventative solutions. * Produce clear, detailed and accurate technical reports, including actionable recommendations. * Liaise effectively with internal management teams, support staff and external contractors. * Monitor works and ensure repairs are completed to the required quality standards. * Ensure all surveying and repair activities comply with relevant Health & Safety legislation, regulations and industry standards. * Support the organisation in reducing recurring damp and mould issues and improving outcomes for residents. Essential Skills & Experience * Degree-level education, relevant professional qualification such as RICS or CIOB, or equivalent relevant experience. * Proven experience dealing with damp and mould issues within social housing, residential or commercial properties. * Strong knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations. * Extensive knowledge of building maintenance, construction defects, diagnostic techniques and remedial solutions. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Experience producing detailed technical reports and liaising with contractors and internal stakeholders. * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
