SEN Teaching Assistant Role Location: Waltham Forest, including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford and Highams Park Pay: £85.50-£110 per day Start: Immediate Setting: Mainstream primary schools Contract: Flexible and long-term opportunitiesResponsibilities As a SEN Teaching Assistant, provide focused 1:1 and small-group support. The SEN Teaching Assistant will reinforce differentiated activities prepared by the class teacher. Support communication, interaction and emotional regulation using agreed strategies. Help pupils work towards EHCP targets and individual outcomes where relevant. The SEN Teaching Assistant will encourage independence and positive classroom participation. Share useful observations with teachers and SENCOs.What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant Previous SEN Teaching Assistant, school support or SEND experience, or credible transferable experience from childcare, youth work, mentoring, tutoring, care or behaviour support. Confidence building positive professional relationships with pupils who need additional support. Patience, reliability and clear communication.
