Field Service EngineerNorth Birmingham £30,000 - £35,000 + Company Vehicle + Laptop + Mobile Phone A leading supplier of industrial fluid management solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team covering customers across the Midlands region. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong customer-facing skills who enjoys working independently and building long-term relationships with customers. The role offers a varied workload, combining technical service, preventative maintenance, fluid management, and customer support. The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting customers using metalworking fluids and associated equipment, ensuring optimum performance and service levels across customer sites. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out onsite coolant checks and condition monitoring. Servicing and maintaining a range of industrial equipment. Supporting machine tool cleanout projects. Managing and monitoring cutting fluid trials. Assisting with CNC air-filter installations when required. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships. Recording customer visits, service activities, and recommendations. Working closely with sales and technical teams to deliver customer solutions. Occasional overnight travel (typically 0–3 nights per month). The CandidateThe successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Applications Engineer, or similar customer-facing engineering role. Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Good organisational and time-management skills. The ability to work independently and manage a regional customer base. A full UK driving licence. Experience within manufacturing, machining, CNC, metalworking fluids, lubrication systems, filtration equipment, industrial consumables, or engineering services would be advantageous but is not essential.
