Are you a Healthcare Assistant with proven phlebotomy and ECG skills, looking for flexible, regular work in a fast-paced clinical environment? We’re recruiting Healthcare Assistants to support a GP-led Primary Care Unit service. You’ll help deliver high-quality patient care within a GP-streaming pathway linked to A&E. Why this role stands out Six-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend Regular weekly shifts available, with flexibility around the days you can offer Primarily weekday evening and weekend work Opportunity to work mainly from one location, with flexibility across both sites welcomed Work alongside GPs and fellow HCAs in an established urgent-care setting Competitive rate, expected to align with Band 4 level  The role  As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll support patients redirected from A&E into a GP/HCA-led pathway. You’ll carry out core clinical duties, monitor and record patient observations, recognise deterioration and escalate appropriately, while maintaining accurate clinical records and working safely within your scope of practice. Available shift patterns include: Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 10pm Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday, 3.30pm to 10pm  What you’ll need Recent experience in a GP practice, PCN, urgent care, community service or similar clinical environment Demonstrable, recently used competency in phlebotomy/venepuncture and ECG recording, supported by practical observation and formal sign-off Experience of basic wound care and taking full clinical observations A sound understanding of NEWS2, patient deterioration and appropriate escalation Knowledge of infection prevention and control, safeguarding and clinical record keeping Confidence managing patients independently within the scope of an HCA role Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced service Confidence using electronic patient record systems, with EMIS experience highly desirable  Desirable skills include suture removal, steri-strip application, Care Certificate completion and additional primary care competencies.
