Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Heavy Engineering

Location: Walker

Salary: £47,000 + Overtime

Shift Pattern: Days & Nights (Strictly M-F, no weekends included in the shift pattern)

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a heavy engineering environment, maintaining and supporting essential production equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong mechanical maintenance background and experience working with a variety of rotary plant.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and repair a variety of rotary plant and associated machinery.
• Identify potential issues and support improvements to equipment reliability.
• Work safely and efficiently within a heavy engineering environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in mechanical maintenance within heavy engineering or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong experience maintaining and repairing rotary plant.
• Competent in fault-finding and reactive maintenance.
• A good understanding of PPM schedules and preventative maintenance practices.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and equipment reliability.

Salary & Benefits

• £47,000 basic salary.
• Overtime paid at time and a half Monday–Friday.
• Double time on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Triple time on bank holidays.
