Role Objective

Lead the successful end-to-end delivery of data migration for the assigned SAP S4E rollout cluster within a major international transformation programme. Ensure that business data is cleansed, enriched, reduced, migrated, and validated accurately from SAP ECC6 into the target SAP S/4HANA environment. Create clear ownership, readiness, and delivery alignment across local business teams, Data Stewards, Master Data Governance, and the central Data Migration Factory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the integrated data migration plan, scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and status for the assigned rollout cluster.
  • Define and maintain the data object scope, ownership, source systems, migration strategy, and delivery approach for the cluster.
  • Coordinate data cleansing, closure, enrichment, extraction, transformation, loading, testing, and business validation activities.
  • Work closely with local finance and business leads, Data Stewards, cross-functional governance teams, and the central Data Migration Factory.
  • Maintain data quality and operational continuity by resolving migration defects, readiness gaps, and delivery risks promptly.
  • Provide transparent reporting and complete migration evidence that meets programme, compliance, and audit requirements.
Tasks
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project plan covering every data migration activity for the rollout cluster.
  • Assess existing local data to determine migration scope, quality, dependencies, ownership, and readiness requirements.
  • Agree data object scope, source systems, and accountabilities with Master Data Governance, the Data Migration Factory, and local Data Stewards.
  • Oversee cluster-level data cleansing, closure, reduction, and enrichment to ensure data is accurate, complete, and migration-ready.
  • Validate migration tooling and infrastructure and finalise the agreed migration strategy and data object migration documentation.
  • Lead data extraction, transformation, and loading activities into the target SAP S/4HANA environment.
  • Monitor migration execution continuously against the plan and agreed data-quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve data, tooling, and process issues while minimising disruption to local business operations.
  • Drive reconciliation, testing, and business validation to confirm the accuracy and completeness of migrated data before go-live.
  • Maintain comprehensive migration documentation and collaborate with international sites and teams across Europe and North America.
Decision Authority / Responsibility
  • Accountable for the successful execution of data migration within the assigned rollout cluster.
  • Responsible for establishing data object scope, ownership, source systems, and the cluster migration strategy and approach.
  • Authorised to coordinate migration priorities, sequencing, corrective actions, and readiness activities within agreed programme governance.
  • Escalate material data-quality issues, resource constraints, delivery dependencies, and risks to migration readiness, go-live, or business continuity.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading SAP data migration workstreams within large, complex implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Essential experience migrating data from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA, ideally within an SAP S4E or comparable global-template rollout.
  • Strong practical knowledge of SAP data cleansing, closure, reduction, enrichment, migration, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Experience developing detailed migration plans and managing scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, readiness, and go-live activities.
  • Sound understanding of extraction, transformation, and loading processes, migration tooling, test cycles, and data-quality controls.
  • Experience defining data object scope, ownership, source systems, and migration strategies with governance and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to coordinate Master Data Governance functions, Data Migration Factory teams, local Data Stewards, and business leads.
  • Track record of delivering projects within large organisations and working effectively across multinational and multicultural teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to connect central programme requirements to local business needs.
  • Structured, proactive, and delivery-focused approach, with the judgement to resolve complex migration issues while protecting data integrity and compliance.
  • Able to work on site in Lincoln two to three days per week and undertake international travel when required; power-generation experience is advantageous but not essential.
