Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Linux & Container Deployment Engineer to join a growing Managed Services team. This role is highly critical and centers on the deployment, validation, and automation of complex, multi-service containerised applications across diverse client environments.

Because you will be managing enterprise software rollouts, strong Linux systems administration and container orchestration skills are absolutely paramount to success in this position. You will work closely with Development, Operations, DevOps, and dedicated infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, repeatable deployment solutions for a global client base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Linux & Environment Management: Take ownership of configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications running on enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL/Rocky Linux).
• Container Deployment: Deploy and configure complex, multi-service containerised applications across multiple platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Cloud container services, VMware, Docker/Podman).
• Architecture & Validation: Install and validate software releases locally, ensuring all interdependent components function flawlessly end-to-end before delivering them to clients.
• Automation: Drive automation initiatives to drastically eliminate manual effort, streamline deployment workflows, and increase environmental consistency.
• Troubleshooting & RCA: Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis, bug investigation, and remediation of issues across complex pre-production environments.
• Client Engagement: Act as the technical guide for both remote and on-site client sessions, assisting technical and non-technical stakeholders through setup, upgrades, and formal operational handovers.
• Documentation: Translate application configuration requirements from release notes into accurate platform-specific deployment configuration, while maintaining robust runbooks and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Expert-level or strong Linux administration skills, with a heavy preference for RHEL or Rocky Linux environments.
• Proven experience deploying multi-service containerised architectures where services have interdependencies, strict startup orders, and require custom platform-native configuration (Kubernetes manifests, Compose files, etc.).
• Robust troubleshooting skills across containerised application environments, regardless of the underlying infrastructure platform.
• Solid understanding of TLS and mTLS certificate configuration within containerised environments.
• Proficiency with Git for version control and configuration management.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to confidently guide external client stakeholders through technical rollouts.
• Willingness to travel to client sites occasionally as part of a project delivery team.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working within financial technology, trading systems, or highly regulated, low-latency environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Good grasp of networking fundamentals (VLANs, firewalls, routing) as they relate to enterprise client site deployments.

Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000 + benefits
